  1. One Day in December by Josie Silver

I read this book about two years ago and fell in love! This plot is absolutely insane - a girl named Laurie makes eye contact with a man on a train and is convinced he is the one. Unfortunately, she doesn’t see him again, and for a year, she tries to look for him everywhere. Just when she’s given up hope, she is introduced to her friend Sarah’s new boyfriend, Jack, who just so happens to be the guy. It’s a story full of love triangles and takes place over the course of ten years, and it will pull you in!

2. One To Watch by Kate Stayman-London

Calling all my Bachelor Nation people!! This book is basically a version of The Bachelorette (called Main Squeeze), and I loved how a plus sized girl was chosen to be the star. That is something we have yet to see in the Bachelor franchise and the one thing that bothers me the most! This book addresses body image, insecurities, and navigating being plus size on TV while trying to fall in love, and I couldn't put it down. I was rooting for the main character, Bea, the whole book and wanting her to find something special!

The book does a great job of adding commentary by having tweets, podcast transcripts, and text convos to give the audiences reactions in Bea’s journey. It really showed the true colors of our culture and how invested we get in reality TV and the journey to find love. I also love all the twists and surprises the book threw in that I didn’t see coming! I was always wondering who was “here for the right reasons”! Not a Christmas book, but one I finished recently and loved.

3. No Exit by Taylor Adams

THIS. BOOK. If you claim to not be a fan of thrillers, I understand, but I beg you to reconsider for this one. I read this in one night and I was holding my breath with every page. The story follows a young girl named Darby who gets stuck in a snow storm and she decides to wait it out at a rest stop where there is no cell phone reception. She’s stuck with several strangers and when she discovers a young girl locked in an animal crate in the back of a van, she knows one of the strangers is a kidnapper. She’s forced to make a decision and try to help the girl, putting both of their lives at risk. Trust me, you want to know what happens.

4. In A Holidaze by Christina Lauren

If you’re anything like me, you enjoy the cheesy Christmas movies (where are all my Hallmark movie lovers???) that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This book is exactly that. I expect this book to eventually make its way to the big screens and become a Christmas favorite. The main character, Maelyn, finds herself trapped reliving the same days over and over again. She is forced to figure out how to break free of that, and along the way, maybe she’ll get a Christmas romance too.

5. This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens

I am currently reading this book right now and loving it! The main character, Minnie, was born on New Years, and she’s convinced the day is unlucky for her all because of a man named Quinn. Born on the same day as her, Quinn was given a cash prize for being the first baby born in London in 1990. Every birthday seems to be a disaster, and on her thirtieth birthday, she runs into Quinn, who has grown to be successful in every way, only making Minnie more upset. However, things heat up between them quickly, and they can’t seem to get enough of each other. I can’t resist a good love story. It’s the perfect New Years Eve read!

Shoot me a message if you have read any of these books and let’s discuss!
